What is Psychotherapeutic Yoga?



Psychotherapeutic Yoga focuses on traditional yoga poses and neurobiology science, that will bring a calming, energizing or balancing effect in your body and mind. It is a brain-body approach, working on the regulation of your nervous systems, significantly reducing anxiety, insomnia, stress, emotional and mental fatigue. The practice will create an environment for growth and well-being along with Meditation and Ayurvedic tools.

In this course you will learn about:


✓ Body and mental connections and healing through specific yoga poses and pranayamas that will bring the right energy to up-regulate or down-regulate our nervous system,

✓ Understanding breath and movements for creating an environment for growth and well-being,

✓ Neuroscience, regulation of our Parasympathetic and Sympathetic Nervous System as well as specific breathing techniques,

✓ Yoga poses and pranayamas for a calming, energizing or balancing effect on the body and mind, significantly reducing anxiety, insomnia, stress, emotional and mental fatigue

✓ Introduction to Ayurveda, our doshas and how to balance them with tips and yoga poses,

✓ Vipassana Meditations, guided meditations how to start a meditation routine,

✓ How to practice set yoga flows with further self-study and reading recommendations.

✓ The course includes 10 videos and 10 manuals, 1 for each session with detailed information about each topic with guided yoga flows and pranayama practices.

Psychotherapeutic Yoga - Module 1

We will learn in this first module about some principles of neuroplasticity and how our brain functions along with our nervous systems as well as which poses can be used to get to a calming, energizing or balancing effect in the body and mind. We will practice different pranayamas as well as 3 tailored flows. 

Ayurveda & the 3 doshas - Module 2

This second module is dedicated to the Ayurveda world, talking about the 3 doshas; Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and how we can balance each of them with simple yoga poses as well as self-care habits. Ayurvedic method of holistic healthcare emphasizes balancing the body and mind to treat and prevent disease.

This third module is dedicated to an easy and accessible Introduction to Meditation. Meditation is part of the 8 limbs of yoga that is practiced for quieting the mind and getting in touch with your inner self. It will help us to access higher states of awareness, tap into our highest potential and much more.

Lydie, Your Teacher



Lydie is a Swiss native and is certified in Ashtanga Yoga (200hrs), Tantra Yoga (200hrs) and Yin Yoga (30hrs). She graduated in Psychotherapeutic Yoga (200hrs) with The LISPY School. After years of teaching yoga, owning a Yoga Studio in the center of Barcelona and leading various workshops, retreats, and private/group classes, she realized that every students is different and many of them may have gone through different traumas and difficult time in their lives. She is now offering Psychotherapeutic Yoga classes to optimize mental health and well-being through online classes and programs. She has developed a safe space for students to learn and create awareness in their bodies and mind. She is committed to take them on a journey of healing and conscious lifestyle.
